For NEOĦANSA, the most important part of the vast heritage of the medieval Hanseatic League is the idea of increasing profits and security through the voluntary cooperation of independent trading centres.
The foundations of NEOĦANSA’s ETĦOS are cooperation and voluntary exchange.
The traits desired in NEOĦANSA Members are independence, decisiveness and courage.
- They apply to every Member, Consul and Founder
- No Member may knowingly harm another Member of the League
- The primary purpose of the League is to support its Members
- The League protects the information and secrets of its Members
- Healthy competition within the League is allowed; each side will receive equal support
- Every internal dispute is resolved by mutual agreement
- In external disputes the League always stands with its Members and seeks to help them
- NEOĦANSA does not take part in ideological disputes
- The League does not impose its will on Members
- The most important decisions are made jointly, but the final word rests with the Consuls and the Founder
- Decisions on removing a Member are made by the Consuls and the Founder
- Removal from the League is permanent
